On November 18, 2009, SPICE conducted an interactive workshop based on SPICE's curriculum unit, Along the Silk Road, for 75 teachers in the New York City Department of Education. The workshop, co-sponsored with the Silk Road Project, was held in conjunction with the American Museum of Natural History's opening of its new exhibit, "Traveling the Silk Road."
