Kate Johnson is a research assistant in the Center on Food Security and the Environment, and a curriculum assistant in the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE). Kate received her BS in Earth Systems from Stanford in 2010, and her MS in the same program in 2011. As an undergraduate, Kate focused her studies on land use and environmental economics. Her Master's coursework concentrated on environmental communication, including environmental journalism and education.
Kate has worked as a student research assistant to Professors Roz Naylor and Walter Falcon for the past four years. As a full-time staff member, she will provide part-time research assistance to Professors Naylor and Falcon while she works with FSE and SPICE to develop a high school-level curriculum on global food security and food policy. A native of the Pacific Northwest, Kate loves the great outdoors even more in the California sun. On a good weekend, look for her in the High Sierra.
